The Texas Department of Insurance, Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC) has recognized WNA, part of The Novolex organization with the Lone Star Safety Award for demonstrating outstanding dedication to workplace safety and health.
This facility’s 123 employees manufacture plastic stadium cups used nationwide. The site’s management and employees actively work together to maintain a proactive safety culture that emphasizes employee involvement, open communication, and continuous improvement.
In addition to the Lone Star Safety Award, WNA, part of The Novolex organization, also earned the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Award from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration in August 2025. This dual recognition reflects the company’s strong record of preventing workplace injuries and illnesses through effective safety management systems.
“WNA, part of The Novolex organization, has established a culture where safety is integrated into daily operations,” said DWC’s Deputy Commissioner for Workplace Safety Chris D’Amura. “Their combined achievements with both the Lone Star Safety Award and SHARP recognition highlight the company’s leadership and commitment to protecting its workforce.”
The Lone Star Safety Program honors Texas employers that maintain exemplary health and safety programs serving as models for others. To qualify, employers must have low injury rates, no recent work-related fatalities, and a proven record of safety excellence.
