Nationwide Insurance is asking West Virginia regulators for a 19% average rate increase on auto liability insurance, a move that could affect more than 27,000 insured drivers.
The West Virginia insurance commissioner said in a bulletin this week that written comments will be accepted through April 30 on the proposed increase, the latest hike requested by auto insurers in the state and around the country.

Nationwide Insurance Co. of America is asking for an 18.69% average increase and Nationwide Property and Casualty Insurance is seeking a 19.1% raise.
